Barguna, Oct 9 (V7N) – Justice J.B.M. Hassan of the High Court Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court inaugurated “Nayakunja,” a rest center designed for visiting litigants, women, and children at the Barguna District Court premises on Thursday morning. The facility also includes a dedicated breastfeeding corner for mothers.
The inauguration ceremony, held at 11 a.m., was presided over by Barguna District and Sessions Judge Md. Saifur Rahman. Among the distinguished guests were Barguna Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Shafiul Alam, District and Sessions Judge (Women and Children Affairs) Lailatul Ferdous, Chief Judicial Magistrate Md. Saiful Alam, Additional District and Sessions Judge Md. Osman Gani, Additional Superintendent of Police Mohammad Abdullah Al Masud (PPM), and Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department Molla Robiul Islam, among others.
In his speech, Justice Hassan praised the initiative, stating that “Nayakunja” would provide a peaceful environment for litigants who travel long distances to attend court hearings. He emphasized that the judiciary, lawyers, and administrative officials must continue working together with dedication to ensure justice for all.
Following the inauguration, Justice Hassan toured several offices and buildings of the Barguna District and Sessions Judge Court. He assured that he would advocate at higher levels for infrastructural development benefiting judges, lawyers, and litigants in Barguna. Senior court officials also discussed with him the proposed site selection for a 12-story District and Sessions Judge Court building.
Other attendees included Joint District and Sessions Judge-1 Kazi Ashraful Jaman, Joint District and Sessions Judge-2 Debrata Biswas, Senior Assistant Judge M.A. Azharul Islam, Assistant Judges Arif Hossain, Md. Rana Sheikh, Selina Akter, and Public Prosecutor Advocate Nurul Amin, along with senior members of the local administration and Bar Association leaders.
Earlier, on June 2, 2023, the foundation stone of the modern rest facility “Nayakunja” was laid by Justice Md. Selim of the High Court Division.
