Dhaka, Oct 09 (V7N): Corruption ranging from Tk29,230 crore to Tk50,835 crore has occurred in road development projects overseen by the Directorate of Roads and Highways during the 14-year tenure of the Awami League government, according to a report by Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB).
The findings were disclosed during a presentation at TIB’s Dhanmondi office on Wednesday. The report was part of a discussion titled "Challenges of Good Governance in the Implementation of Road and Highway Development Projects."
The research focused on various development projects carried out by the Roads and Highways Department under the Annual Development Program (ADP). The study concentrated specifically on projects valued below Tk1,000 crore, with a particular emphasis on those funded domestically.
