Dhaka, Oct 14 (V7N): Dr. Abdur Razzaque, a prominent member of the Awami League's Advisory Council and former agriculture minister, has been arrested from the Eskaton area of Dhaka.

The arrest was carried out by a team from the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Monday night. Muhammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (Media) of DMP, confirmed the arrest, stating that it took place at around 7:45 PM.

Dr. Razzaque faces charges in multiple cases. Notably, he is one of the 56 individuals named in a murder case related to the shooting death of a 10th-grade student during the anti-discrimination student movement in Tangail. Other accused include former state minister for commerce Ahasanul Islam Titu and five former members of parliament.
