Dhaka, Dec 28 (V7N) — The International Criminal Police Organization, commonly known as Interpol, has listed 63 Bangladeshi nationals on its 'red alert' notice, according to its website on Friday. Contrary to recent rumours, former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's name is not on the list.
The 'red alert' list identifies individuals wanted by authorities worldwide for crimes such as murder, manslaughter, sexual assault, torture, money laundering, and other offences. Interpol frequently updates this list.

Founded in 1923, Interpol is a global organization with 196 member countries. It facilitates cooperation among police forces worldwide to apprehend suspects who cross international borders.
To issue a Red Notice, a country must provide detailed information, including case documents and evidence, to Interpol's headquarters. A Red Notice alerts law enforcement globally about a wanted individual and seeks their extradition to the requesting country.
The inclusion of 63 Bangladeshi nationals underscores the international dimension of crime and the critical role of Interpol in tracking fugitives.
