Ukhiya, Feb 21 (V7N) – A robbery took place at two houses in the Kutupalong Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar, during which seven people were shot and injured by the assailants. The injured were later taken to the Kutupalong MSF hospital, and three of them were referred to the Cox’s Bazar District Hospital due to their critical condition.
 
The incident occurred in the B-2 block of the 20-Extension Rohingya camp at around dawn on February 20. The victims included Samsul Alam (45), his son Alauddin (12), daughter Marzina (13), and Maryam (10), all from the same area. The identities of the other injured are still unknown.
 
According to local sources and the 14 Armed Police Battalion (APBN), a group of 8-10 unidentified robbers entered the house of Hasina Begum, a resident of the B-2 block, at dawn. They held the family hostage and looted Tk 70, thousand. The robbers then moved to a nearby house, owned by Hasina's sister, Sajeda Begum, and stole Tk 86, thousand before attempting to flee.
 
As the robbers fled, Samsul Alam and others attempted to stop them, resulting in the robbers firing indiscriminately. Seven people were injured in the gunfire. Local residents rescued the injured and took them to the nearby hospital. Three of the victims are in critical condition and have been sent to the district hospital for further treatment.
