June 3 (V7N Cox’s Bazar)- The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB14) detained five people along with locally made weapons in a midnight raid in the Jhaubon area adjacent to Kobita Chattor on Cox's Bazar beach.
 
They are identified as miscreants and were detained while preparing for a robbery, said RAB 15 Senior Assistant Director (Law and Media) and Additional Superintendent of Police Abu Salam Chowdhury.
 
The detained individuals are Md Ferdous, 39, Mizanur Rahman, 34, Md Ismail, 24, Md Solaiman Bacchu, 31, and Md Foisal, 21. They are residents of Cox’s Bazar.
 
During the raid, RAB members recovered two pairs of scissors, one sewing machine, one dual LED torchlight, one large knife, and two motorcycles.
 
The raid was conducted based on a tip-off. The detainees admitted during initial interrogation that the gang was involved in robbing both local and foreign tourists by brandishing weapons at various points in Cox's Bazar.
 
A case has been filed in connection with this incident, and the detained individuals have been handed over to Cox's Bazar Sadar police station."
