Ukhiya, Sep 16 (V7N) - In two separate incidents, two individuals were killed at the Rohingya camps in Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar. One of the victims has been identified, while the other remains unidentified. Camp authorities are assisting in the process of sending the bodies to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
The identified victim, Nurul Bashar (55), was a resident of Block A-8 in Jamtoli Rohingya Camp No. 15. The incidents occurred early Monday morning (September 16) in the Jamtoli and Kutupalong Lal Pahar areas of Ukhiya.
Shafiqul Islam, the Investigative Officer-in-Charge of Ukhiya Police Station, confirmed the killings and said that police have been sent to the sites to recover the bodies.
Mohammad Iqbal, Commander of the 14th Armed Police Battalion (DIG), reported that a body was discovered in the Lal Pahar area, though its identity is yet to be determined. He added that the overall situation in the camps remains calm.
