Mongla, Oct 12 (V7N) — In light of the ongoing Durga Puja festivities, the Coast Guard has ramped up security measures at 130 coastal temples, including those in Mongla. Led by Lt. Mushfiq from the Coast Guard West Zone Headquarters, members of the force visited various temples on Saturday morning to ensure a smooth and peaceful celebration of Bijay Dashami .
Lt. Mushfiq urged the public to remain calm and not be overzealous during the idol immersion ceremonies. In addition to providing security, the Coast Guard is actively raising public awareness on safety measures. They have advised people to avoid overcrowding boats, ensure that everyone aboard wears life jackets, and recommended that non-swimmers avoid boarding vessels during the immersion process.
Moreover, the Coast Guard's special diving team remains on standby to conduct rescue operations in the event of any boat mishaps during the immersion. Their efforts aim to prevent accidents and ensure a safe celebration for devotees in the coastal regions.
