Dhaka,NOV 02, V7N- A group of students set fire to the Jatiya Party office at the Dakbangla junction in Khulna on Saturday evening, creating a wave of panic in the area. Following the incident, surrounding shops closed, and tension has since prevailed in the Dakbangla area.

According to witnesses, around 6 p.m., an agitated group of students arrived at the Dakbangla intersection in a procession. The crowd, visibly excited, crossed the intersection and began damaging signboards of the Jatiya Party’s Khulna metropolitan and district offices. They then entered the office, smashing furniture, including chairs and tables, before bringing the broken items outside and setting them on fire. The mob departed after chanting slogans against Jatiya Party leaders.

Khulna Police Station's Officer-in-Charge Sheikh Monirul Ghiyas confirmed the incident, stating that the students threw bricks at the Jatiya Party office and set fire to two plastic chairs outside. He added that the identities of those involved are yet to be confirmed, but investigations are ongoing to identify the attackers.
