Kurigram, Nov 07 (V7N) — The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and affiliated organizations commemorated National Revolution and Solidarity Day with a public rally and discussion meeting at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium in Chilmari, Kurigram, on Thursday.

The event began with the hoisting of national and party flags at the BNP office at 8:00 am, followed by a public gathering. The meeting was presided over by Upazila BNP General Secretary Abdul Matin Sarkar Shirin and featured former Member of Parliament for Kurigram-4, Alhaj Abdul Bari Sarkar, as a key speaker.

Other notable speakers included former Vice President Shamsuddin Sarkar, Thanahat Union BNP General Secretary Abdul Malek Sarkar, Nayarhat BNP President Harun Or Rashid, Ashtami Char Union BNP General Secretary Mokarram Hossain, Chilmari Union BNP President Riazul Haque Joddar, and Krishak Dal Member Secretary Mojibur Rahman. Youth and volunteer leaders, such as Moshiur Rahman Mithun, Bakul, and Volunteer Dal Convener Abdul Mottaleb, also contributed to the discussions.

The meeting covered various issues of national importance and underscored the historical significance of National Revolution and Solidarity Day. Leaders spoke about the need for unity and resilience in the face of current challenges, urging members and the public to work together to uphold democratic values.

The program was coordinated by Akhtaruzzaman Babu, the Member Secretary of the Volunteer Dal, with joint conveners Jamiul Islam Johnny and Biplab also present. The event concluded with a renewed call for solidarity among party members and the people of Chilmari.
