Kurigram, Dec 16 (V7N)- Like the rest of the country, the great Victory Day was celebrated in Kurigram with solemnity and grandeur, marking the 53rd anniversary of Bangladesh's independence.

Ceremonial Tributes and Observances

The day began with a 31-gun salute at sunrise, symbolizing respect for the nation’s martyrs. A wreath-laying ceremony at the Independence Victory Monument at College Crossing, organized by the district administration, saw participation from government officials, law enforcement, health professionals, political leaders, and socio-cultural organizations.

Participants observed a minute of silence to honor the martyrs, followed by prayers for their eternal peace.
