Magura, Dec 19, (V7N) - A violent clash over dominance between two villages in the Berail Polita Bazaar bus stand of Magura Sadar Upazila has resulted in the death name of Shariful Islam (32). The confrontation also left at least 10 others injured.
Local sources reported that there has been a long-standing feud between the supporters of two union council members, Raja Mia and Akbar Hossain, in Berail Polita Union. This ongoing conflict escalated into violence on Thursday afternoon at the Berail Bazaar bus stand. During the altercation, Shariful Islam, the son of Member Akbar Hossain, was fatally attacked and died at the scene. The clash left around 10 individuals from both sides injured.
Upon receiving the news, police and joint forces swiftly arrived at the scene to control the situation. Magura Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ayub Ali confirmed the incident, stating that the violence stemmed from a dispute over local dominance. He further mentioned that legal action is underway regarding the fatality and the injuries caused during the clash.
The situation has now been brought under control, with joint forces deployed in the area. Authorities have assured that the environment is peaceful following the intervention. The police are continuing their investigation into the incident and taking necessary actions in accordance with the law.
