Rangamati, Feb 21 (V7N) - Veteran journalist and renowned editor of the first-ever newspaper in the hill district, Daily Giridarpan, AKM Moksud Ahmed has passed away. He died on Thursday (Feb 20) at 9:37 PM at Rangamati General Hospital at the age of 82.
 
He is survived by his wife, two sons, two daughters, and numerous admirers. His death was confirmed by Rangamati Civil Surgeon Dr. Nuyen Khisa and Dr. Shoukat Akbar Khan, the residential physician at the hospital.
 
Moksud Ahmed's death has left the hill district's journalistic community in mourning. Several political leaders, media professionals, and social workers rushed to the hospital to pay their respects.
 
AKM Moksud Ahmed had been in journalism for 56 years and was the founding editor of Giridarpan, a newspaper that has been a crucial voice in the region for over four decades. He also served as the former president of the Rangamati Press Club and as a correspondent for Daily Ittefaq. His contributions to the field will be remembered.
