Rajshahi, Mar 02 (V7N) - A prisoner under treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RAMECH) has died. The incident occurred at Ward No. 32 of the hospital around 10:45 AM on Sunday (March 2).

The deceased, Md. Bachchu (35), was the son of late Abu Bakkar from Hak Jhikra village, Charghat upazila, Rajshahi. His case number was 11116/24.

According to Dr. Shankar Kumar, the emergency department in-charge at RAMECH, Bachchu experienced chest pain while in Rajshahi Central Jail. Following his illness, prison authorities rushed him to the hospital's emergency department, where the on-duty doctor advised his admission to Ward No. 32. However, despite medical efforts, he passed away while undergoing treatment.

Dr. Shankar Kumar further stated, "The body has been kept in the hospital morgue. After completing legal procedures, it will be handed over to the family."
