Rajshahi, Mar 12 (V7n) – The National Vitamin 'A' Plus Campaign-2025 will be held in Rajshahi metropolis on March 15, with a target of administering Vitamin A capsules to 66,620 children. The campaign, led by Rajshahi City Corporation (RASIC), aims to combat malnutrition-related blindness and child mortality.

At a press conference in City Hall, Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner and RASIC Administrator Khondaker Azim Ahmed, NDC, announced that 8,715 children (6-11 months old) will receive blue Vitamin A capsules, while 57,905 children (12-59 months old) will receive red Vitamin A capsules. He emphasized the need for public cooperation to ensure the campaign’s success.

To facilitate the program, 384 centers will be set up across the city, operating from 8 AM to 4 PM, with the support of 768 volunteers. Mobile units will also be available to reach children in remote areas. The initiative is being implemented by the National Nutrition Service, Public Health Nutrition Institute, Department of Health, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, in collaboration with RASIC.

During the event, Dr. FAM Anjuman Ara Begum, Chief Health Officer of RASIC, highlighted the campaign's importance in reducing vitamin deficiency-related health issues among children. She reassured that all necessary arrangements had been made to ensure the campaign's success.

The press conference was attended by RASIC Chief Executive Officer Dr. ABM Sharif Uddin, Acting Superintendent Engineer Ahmed Al Moin Parag, Chief Cleaning Officer Sheikh Md. Mamun, and representatives from various media outlets.
