Rajapur, Jhalakathi, Apr 17 (V7N)– In an effort to maintain the integrity of ongoing examinations, authorities in Rajapur upazila of Jhalakathi have expelled four students for allegedly engaging in cheating. These incidents were reported across different examination centers in the upazila on Thursday, April 17th.

"Four students have been expelled from the ongoing examination in Rajapur upazila of Jhalakathi on charges of cheating. These incidents took place at different centres in the upazila on Thursday (April 17)," a Jhalakathi Representative reported.

Rajapur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rahul Chanda confirmed the expulsions. According to sources within the upazila administration, two students were expelled from the Baraiya Degree College center, one from the Galua Union Secondary School center, and one from the Kanudaskathi Islamia Madrasa center for violating examination regulations.

"Rajapur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rahul Chanda confirmed the matter. According to upazila administration sources, two students from Baraiya Degree College centre, one from Galua Union Secondary School centre and one from Kanudaskathi Islamia Madrasa centre were expelled for violating the examination rules," the report detailed.

Local sources have alleged a recurring issue of cheating at the Baraiya Degree College and Kanudaskathi Islamia Madrasa Centers. Specifically, Kanudaskathi Islamia Madrasa Center Secretary Md. A. Razzak and Madrasa Superintendent Abul Kalam have been accused of aiding students in these malpractices. However, both individuals have denied these allegations, asserting that "the exams are being held fairly at our center." When questioned about the contradiction between claiming fair exams and the expulsion of a student, they reportedly stated, "There are many students, it is not always possible to check everyone."

Even, Kanudaskathi Islamia Madrasa Center Secretary Md. A. Razzak and Madrasa Superintendent Abul Kalam have been accused of aiding students in cheating. However, they denied the allegations and said, 'The exams are being held fairly at our center.' When asked whether the expulsion of a student is not in conflict with the demand for fair exams, they said, 'There are many students, it is not always possible to check everyone,'" the correspondent noted.

UNO Rahul Chanda emphasized the administration's firm stance against any form of malpractice during the examinations, stating that "No kind of malpractice will be tolerated in the examination. Regular monitoring is being done to ensure a fair and cheating-free environment." He also appealed to parents and teachers to instill a sense of morality and values in students and cautioned teachers against engaging in unethical activities driven by a desire for better results.

He also said, 'I request parents and teachers to try to awaken the students' sense of morality and values.
