Tangail, Apr 19 (V7N) - The long-standing dream of the helpless and deprived people of the river bank of Pach Charan area of ​​Kokdohara union in Kalihati upazila of Tangail has been fulfilled. A flood of joy is flowing among the locals as a dirt road has been constructed in that area under the TR program. A local named Shahin is demanding its closure, claiming that the road was built on his land. It is learned that Harun Khan, UP member of Ward No. 5 of Kokdohra Union of the upazila, applied for the road to alleviate the suffering of the people of the area. Taking cognizance of the matter, the Kalihati Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) formed a three-member investigation committee and sent it for an on-site inspection. When the investigation reported the need for the road in the public interest, Tk 57,000 was allocated for the construction of a road from Pach Charan CNB Road to Badar Ali's house under the 'TR' program. To implement the project, a 5-member committee was formed with local UP member Harun as the president and social worker Sohel Khan as the general secretary. The road was implemented under the supervision of that committee.

Locals said that the people living along the riverbanks had been suffering from endless difficulties in transportation for a long time. The construction of this road will ease their suffering to a great extent. It is not just a road, but a new light of hope in their lives. The villagers on the riverbanks are overjoyed to get the road. There is a smile on their faces. They expressed their gratitude to the government and the people's representatives. Since the construction of the road, a local man named Shaheen Siddiqui has been trying to block the road by claiming his land. The locals are being harassed in various ways.

The neglected people on the river bank are trying to protect the road. As part of this, locals formed a human chain at Pach Charan village in Kokdohara union of the upazila on Saturday (April 19) afternoon. The project's general secretary Sohel Khan, local UP member Harun Khan, former union chairman Shafiur Rahman Khan, and others spoke at the event. Local men and women participated in the human chain. The speakers in the human chain said that the locals will suffer. Under the TR project, a rural road was constructed from the CNB road in the union's Pacha Charan to Badar's house this year. After the road was constructed, local Shaheen Siddiqui is trying to block the road by exerting influence. We are being harassed in various ways. We strongly protest against the attempt to block this road. We seek the administration's immediate intervention. Kokdohra Union Parishad Chairman Nurul Islam said, "We are always striving to ensure basic amenities for the people. This road will play an important role in improving the quality of life of the grassroots people." In this regard, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Khairul Islam said, "We went to the spot in response to the complaint. We listened to both sides. We gave advice so that no one is harmed."
