Ekramul Haque Titu has unofficially secured victory in the by-election for Mymensingh City Corporation, reclaiming his position as mayor.

Belayet Hossain Choudhury, the returning officer, announced the unofficial results of the election at Advocate Tarek Smriti Auditorium in the city, with Titu garnering 1,39,604 votes.

His closest competitor, Advocate Sadequl Haque Khan Milky, received 35,763 votes.

Three other candidates, Ehtesamul Alam, Rezaul, and Jatiyo Party candidate Shahidul Islam, received 10,733, 1,487, and 1,321 votes respectively.

The balloting, conducted using Electronic Voting Machines, took place from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with no interruptions.

A total of 149 councillors and 69 women councilors vied for 33 ward councillor positions and 11 women reserved seats, with 1,88,948 voters exercising their rights in the by-poll.
