RANGAMATI, May 23 (V7N) – Ambulance owners in Rangamati today formed a human chain, demanding the immediate release of Golam Mostafa, the central president of the Bangladesh Ambulance Owners Welfare Association, and the withdrawal of what they term a "false case" against him.
The protest, organized by the Rangamati district branch of the Bangladesh Ambulance Owners Welfare Association, took place on Wednesday afternoon in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office in Rangamati.
The human chain was presided over by Didarul Alam Didar, President of the organization's Rangamati District Committee, and saw participation from Vice-President Palash Kanti Baroya, General Secretary Md. Selim, Organizing Secretary Osman Gani Sohel, and numerous ambulance drivers.
Speakers at the event asserted that Md. Golam Mostafa, the central president, was "completely unjustly picked up" by police on the afternoon of May 13 from in front of a pharmacy on Uttara Road No. 10 in the capital and subsequently shown arrested in a "false case."
The participants collectively demanded the immediate withdrawal of the false case filed against Golam Mostafa and his unconditional release.
