MONGLA, JUNE 06 (V7N) – The Mongla Port Authority has reopened its office in Khulna, 39 years after its operations were relocated to Mongla. The re-establishment of the Khulna office on Wednesday is primarily a response to persistent requests from port users, aimed at enhancing the dynamism and convenience of port operations.
Port users have expressed significant relief and satisfaction with this decision. They highlighted that a majority of businessmen and port users maintain their offices in Khulna. Therefore, having port-related activities managed from an office in Khulna will greatly streamline their work, saving considerable time and increasing the efficiency of port-related processes. This move is expected to encourage greater utilization of Mongla Port, thereby positively contributing to the country's economic dynamism.
The reopening of the Khulna office fulfills a promise made by the Advisor to the Ministry of Shipping and directly addresses the long-standing requests of port users.
It is noteworthy that the operational activities of Mongla Port were first shifted from Khulna to Mongla on December 1, 1986. Subsequently, in 1987, most other establishments and offices also made the move from Khulna to Mongla.
