Khagrachhari, Oct 8 (V7N) – Police recovered a hand grenade from an abandoned shop near the Madhupur Bazar bridge corner in Khagrachhari on Wednesday morning following a tip-off from local residents.

Officer-in-Charge of Khagrachhari Sadar Police Station, Abdul Baten Mridha, confirmed that the recovered item was a tear gas hand grenade, and clarified that it was non-explosive and posed no harm. The grenade was verified by the police observation team.

He added that the police maintain constant vigilance across all levels of administration in the district to ensure peace and order. “We continue to work diligently to maintain law and order in Khagrachhari, and these efforts will be sustained in the future,” he said.

The recovered grenade has been secured by authorities, and the police urge residents to report any suspicious items or activities to help maintain public safety.
