Madhabpur, Oct 13 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) organized a rally and street meeting in Madhabpur on Monday afternoon to promote the 31-point state reform program announced by the party’s acting chairman, Tareque Rahman. The event took place in front of the Madhabpur Upazila Parishad.
Advocate Aminul Islam, vice president of the Nationalist Lawyers’ Forum Central Committee and a BNP nomination aspirant for Habiganj-4 (Madhabpur–Chunarughat) constituency, addressed the gathering as chief speaker.
In his remarks, Advocate Aminul Islam said, “Tareque Rahman’s 31-point outline for state structure reform is not merely a political declaration—it represents a vision for people’s liberation and the rebuilding of a just and accountable state. The BNP remains steadfast in restoring democracy and ensuring people’s voting rights. We will bring an end to authoritarian rule and establish a government that upholds accountability and justice.”
He further emphasized, “To form a government truly representing the people, unity is essential. Grassroots activists will play a decisive role in every phase of the ongoing movement.”
Several local BNP and affiliate leaders also spoke at the event, including Bahara Union BNP President Shaheen Alam Ripon, former President of Adair Union BNP Abu Mia Member, former District Swechasebak Dal Finance Secretary Shamsul Haque Jewel, Senior Joint Convener of Chunarughat Municipal Jubo Dal Rafik Talukder, and Joint Convener of Madhabpur Upazila Jubo Dal Emran Nazir Bappi.
Following the speeches, a colorful procession paraded through the main streets of Madhabpur town before concluding at the central market.
Local BNP leaders said the campaign aims to raise public awareness about the 31-point state reform plan, which envisions restructuring key institutions, restoring good governance, and ensuring full democratic participation across the nation.
