Jhalokathi, Oct 14 (V7N) – Inspired by BNP Acting Chairman Tareque Rahman’s 31-point state reform and reconstruction agenda, which ensures equal rights for all religious communities, more than 100 Hindu men and women joined the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in Jhalokathi for the second time this month.

The joining ceremony took place on Tuesday afternoon around 4 p.m. at Binoykathi Bazar in Jhalokathi Sadar Upazila. The event was organized by the Binoykathi Union BNP under the leadership of Union President Abdur Rahim Sardar Rafiq and General Secretary Nuruzzaman Selim. It was held as part of a public meeting aimed at raising awareness of Tareque Rahman’s 31-point state reform framework.

Jhalokathi District BNP Convener Advocate Md. Syed Hossain attended the event as the chief guest, while Advocate Md. Shahadat Hossain, Member Secretary of the District BNP, President of the Jhalokathi District Bar Association, and a nomination aspirant for the Jhalokathi-2 constituency, served as the chief speaker. The new members from the Hindu community formally joined the BNP by presenting flowers to the guests.

Special guests at the event included Jhalokathi Sadar Upazila BNP President Professor S.M. Ejaz Hasan, General Secretary Md. Khokon Mallik, Jhalokathi Municipality BNP President Advocate Nasimul Hasan, and District BNP Organizing Committee Member (Office Affairs) Advocate Md. Mizanur Rahman Mubin. Among others who spoke were former District BNP Information and Research Secretary Advocate Shamim Alam Baklai, Sadar Upazila BNP Vice President Khandakar Mahmud Hossain, Babu Chandan Poddar, Azizur Rahman Bashir, Joint Secretary Anisuzzaman Chopal, Senior Joint Secretary Md. Mizanur Rahman Sardar, and local Hindu representatives Madhab Chandra, Nitai Halder, Amit Saha, and Sabitri Rani.

Chief speaker Advocate Md. Shahadat Hossain said that the BNP is firmly committed to ensuring equal rights for people of all religions, castes, and ethnicities. He emphasized that BNP respects every religion and that Acting Chairman Tareque Rahman’s 31-point reform agenda is designed to build a state based on equality and justice, safeguarding the rights of every community under a “rainbow nation” vision.

Chief guest Advocate Syed Hossain stated that once in power, BNP will ensure equal dignity and constitutional rights for all citizens, including ethnic minorities and people from all faiths. The special guests called for unity among citizens in rebuilding the nation and urged the BNP leadership to nominate Advocate Shahadat Hossain as the party candidate for the Jhalokathi-2 constituency, reflecting grassroots support.

The event concluded with a collective pledge from party leaders and newly joined members to work together for the victory of the BNP’s “Sheaf of Paddy” symbol in the coming national elections and to strengthen the party’s grassroots movement for a just and inclusive Bangladesh.
