Bagerhat, Oct 18 (V7N) – A discussion and Quran recitation program was organized by the Bhotrokonokpur Shiddiqia Aminia Madinatul Ulum Madrasa near Chulkati Bazaar in Bagerhat Sadar to promote communal harmony and raise awareness against terrorism, corruption, drugs, and violence against women, as well as other social issues.

The event took place on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the madrasa grounds under the chairmanship of the madrasa’s principal, Mawlana Ali Ahmad. The chief guest was Khondkar Rafiqul Islam BPM, Additional IGP (Crime and Operations) of Bangladesh Police, Headquarters, Dhaka. Other notable attendees included Rezaul Haq, DIG of Khulna Police Range, Bagerhat District Superintendent of Police Asaduzzaman, and retired Major Ziauddin.

The program was moderated by Sheikh Miranuzzaman, district correspondent of Amar Desh newspaper. Special guests included former president and current chief coordinator of Bagerhat District BNP M.A. Salam, Bagerhat Municipality BNP leader Shamsher Ali Mohon, district BNP member Engineer Masud Rana, Sadar Thana BNP president Syed Nasir Ahmed Malek, general secretary Abul Kalam Azad Bulu, Mawlana Rezaul Karim, district Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Manjurul Haq Rahad, president of the district youth division, Naib Amir Mawlana Abdul Wadud, Mawlana Anisuzzaman Sikder, director of Islamic Foundation Bangladesh, Abdul Jabbar Molla (C.I.P.), Managing Director of Jahanabad C-Foods Ltd., and prominent businessman and social worker Golam Sarwar, among others.

During the program, the chief guest led 40 madrasa students in Quran recitation and emphasized the importance of collaboration between law enforcement and the community. He stated, “Our police and administration are actively working to establish communal harmony and tackle social issues such as terrorism, corruption, drugs, and violence against women. To achieve a safe and just society, citizens must cooperate with law enforcement agencies.”

The event highlighted the role of education, religious institutions, and community leaders in promoting social awareness and supporting law enforcement initiatives to ensure peace and security in Bagerhat.
