Mongla, Jan 03 (V7N) — A milad and doa mahfil was held in Mongla on Friday afternoon to seek eternal peace for the soul of the late Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. The prayer meeting was organized by Mongla Municipal BNP at its temporary office on Madrasa Road in the municipal town.

Among those present at the programme were Mongla Municipal BNP General Secretary Mahbubur Rahman Manik, along with party leaders Khorshed Alam, Bablu Bhuiyan, Md Alauddin, Saheb Ali Mallik, Md Kazi Faruk, Md Jasim Uddin, Abdus Salam Bepari, Shahjahan Fakir and Md Mostafa Sheikh.

Special prayers were offered for the salvation of the souls of Begum Khaleda Zia, the party’s founder andham president Ziaur Rahman, and Arafat Rahman Koko. The gathering also prayed for the long life and good health of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

A large number of leaders and activists from Mongla Municipal BNP and its affiliated organizations participated in the prayer meeting, expressing their respect and mourning for the late leader while reaffirming their unity and commitment to the party.
