Kalapara, July 5 (V7N)- Due to the influence of the monsoon, heavy rainfall continues in Patuakhali. The Khepupara Meteorological Office recorded 83 millimeters of rain in Kalapara between 6 AM and 9 AM on Friday. 
 
In the past 24 hours, a total of 118 millimeters of rain has been recorded. The continuous heavy rainfall over the past eight days has caused severe distress among the general public. Low-income laborers have been hit hard. Waterlogging has occurred in many low-lying areas, submerging numerous roads and houses. Countless fish enclosures and ponds have been flooded. 
 
Vegetable farmers are facing losses. However, the district weather office has indicated that this rainfall may continue in the coastal areas for the next 24 hours.
