Rajshahi, Aug 24 (V7N) - A human chain was organized in Rajshahi to call for the arrest and exemplary punishment of those responsible for the murder of Dr. Golam Kazem Ali Ahmed, a physician at Rajshahi Medical College. The event took place on Saturday, August 24, at 11:30 AM in front of the Rajshahi Medical College, with doctors, students, officials, and staff who have experienced oppression and discrimination participating.
 
Speakers at the event noted that, even after 10 months, the culprits behind Dr. Kazem Ali’s murder have not been identified. They criticized the police for failing to apprehend the microbus involved in the crime, despite the presence of over 500 CCTV cameras installed by the police in the city.
 
The participants described the murder as premeditated and accused a leader from the Awami League of direct involvement in the incident.
 
Dr. Kazem Ali’s family expressed that they have not been able to return to a normal life since the murder. On the night of October 29, 2023, Dr. Kazem Ali, a specialist in dermatology and venereology at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, was brutally killed by assailants while returning home from his private clinic in the Kalabagan area of Rajshahi. Despite the passage of nearly 10 months, the police have yet to identify any suspects. The human chain saw significant participation from doctors in Rajshahi.
