Feni, Sep 12 (V7N) -The bodies of four individuals, killed during the anti-discrimination student movement in Mohipal, Feni, were exhumed for autopsy. On Wednesday (September 11), the body of martyr Ishtiaq Ahmed Shrabon was exhumed from the family graveyard in Anandapur, Fulgazi, in the afternoon, while the body of martyr Saidul Islam Shahi was exhumed from Fazilpur in the morning.bon was exhumed from the family graveyard in Anandapur, Fulgazi, in the afternoon, while the body of martyr Saidul Islam Shahi was exhumed from Fazilpur in the morning. These details were confirmed by sources at Feni Model Police Station. According to the same source, their bodies were exhumed 36 days after burial under the court's order for autopsy as part of the investigation into the case.

Yesterday afternoon, the body of martyr Shrabon was exhumed from the family graveyard in South Anandapur village of Anandapur Union in Fulgazi Upazila. It was then sent to Feni General Hospital for autopsy. Executive Magistrate Abdur Rahman and Sub-Inspector Anwar Hossain, the investigating officer of the case from Feni Model Police Station, were present at the scene. Earlier the same day, the body of martyr Shahi was exhumed from the family graveyard of the Lokiat Ullah Saudagar house in Ward No. 5 of Fazilpur Union under Sadar Upazila. It was also sent to Feni General Hospital for autopsy. According to Feni Model Police Station sources, Sub-Inspector Md. Al-Amin, the investigating officer of Shahi's murder case, was present at the time.

Feni Model Police Station sources further reported that at around 5 PM yesterday, the body of martyr Shakil was exhumed from Mandari village in Sonagazi Upazila and sent to Feni General Hospital's morgue for autopsy. Sonagazi Upazila's Executive Officer (UNO) Kamrul Hasan and Sub-Inspector M. Irfan, the investigating officer from Feni Model Police Station, were present during the exhumation. Earlier that day, at around 1 PM, the body of martyr Md. Sabuj, a rickshaw driver killed in Mohipal, was exhumed from Tumchar village in Ramgati Upazila of Lakshmipur district and sent to Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital's morgue for autopsy. Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate SM Abdullah-bin-Shafiq and Sub-Inspector Kamal Kumar Saha, the investigating officer from Feni Model Police Station, were also present.

Last Sunday, the court had ordered the exhumation of Sabuj's body for autopsy. Regarding the matter, Feni Model Police Station's Officer-in-Charge (OC), Muhammad Ruhul Amin, stated that their bodies were exhumed for autopsy as part of the investigation. After the autopsies, they will be reburied.

It is noteworthy that on August 4, supporters of the anti-discrimination student-public non-cooperation movement staged a protest at Mohipal on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Feni. Several eyewitnesses reported that Awami League activists opened indiscriminate fire on the peaceful student-public protesters. So far, nine people have been reported dead, and over a hundred injured in the incident. To date, eight separate murder cases have been filed at Feni Model Police Station regarding the killings on that day. However, several students among the injured have claimed that the death toll in Mohipal may be double the reported figure.
