Pabna, Oct 22 (V7N) – Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST) has inaugurated a tree plantation initiative to enhance the campus greenery. The program was officially launched on Tuesday at the university campus by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Mohammad Nazrul Islam. With support from Pubali Bank PLC, 450 saplings will be planted across the campus.
The event was attended by Pubali Bank’s Rajshahi regional Deputy General Manager, Mr. Sajedur Rahman, Assistant General Manager Mr. Moshiur Rahman, and the Head Manager of Pabna Main Branch, Mr. Sajjad Hossain.
Following the plantation activity, a seminar on “Digital and Retail Products” was held in the university library seminar hall, attended by faculty members, staff, and students. The program concluded with the inauguration of a digital banking booth by Pubali Bank PLC on campus.
Professor Dr. Mohammad Nazrul Islam expressed gratitude to Pubali Bank for supporting the university’s greening efforts. He emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in enhancing institutional development and assured that the university will adopt high-quality services and products.
Mr. Sajedur Rahman highlighted Bangladesh Bank’s goal to achieve 50% cashless transactions by 2027 and 100% by 2031, enabling digital banking from home. He thanked the university administration for their cooperation and noted that the plantation program was part of the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. He also discussed potential collaborations for lab facilities and digital booths at the university.
The university administration stated that the program aims not only to improve campus greenery but also to raise students’ awareness about banking services and digital financial literacy.
