Pabna, Oct 26 (V7N) — A seminar on ‘Higher Education Abroad and IELTS Preparation’ was organized by the Student Advisory Office at Pabna Science and Technology University (PSTU) on Saturday morning. The event took place at the university convention hall at 10:30 a.m., with participation from fourth-year and master’s students who registered through a Google form.
The seminar was presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Rashedul Haque, Director of the Student Advisory Office. Chief guests included Vice-Provost Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam and Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Shamim Ahsan. The resource person for the session was Md. Sajibul Islam, M.Ed. in Teaching and Educational Linguistics from Canada and Cambridge CELTA certified.
During the seminar, Vice-Provost Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam emphasized the importance of dedication and perseverance for students. “You must be committed and capable. Pursue higher education abroad and return to contribute to national development. You have the ability to achieve this, and this seminar is your platform to prove it,” he said.
Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Shamim Ahsan highlighted the significance of language proficiency and preparation. “To study abroad, strong language skills are essential. Global competition is increasing, and to thrive internationally, proficiency in English is crucial. Achieving a high score in IELTS and developing relevant skills is necessary. The administration will provide all required support to ensure skill development,” he added.
The seminar included interactive sessions where students were guided on effective strategies for IELTS preparation, application processes for universities abroad, and skill development opportunities to enhance their competitiveness in the global academic arena.
Organizers stated that such initiatives aim to equip students with the knowledge and confidence needed to pursue higher education overseas and contribute meaningfully upon returning to Bangladesh.
