"To stay competitive internationally, we have no choice but to utilize our population as valuable assets for the public. So, teachers should encourage students to learn by doing practical activities and in different languages," Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Naufel mentioned."

 

Education Minister Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Naufel expressed that improving the standard of education relies on empowering teachers. He emphasized the need to enhance the facilities and capabilities of teachers, highlighting their pivotal role in fostering student qualifications, skills, and employment opportunities. Additionally, he stressed the imperative of strengthening the responsibilities of teachers to contribute to the development of a smart Bangladesh.

The minister made these remarks during a discussion with educators from various educational institutions in Chattogram at the Premier University auditorium on Friday, January 19 night. He highlighted the influential role of teachers in shaping students' preferences, mindsets, and creativity. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of empowering students to make informed decisions about their career paths. Furthermore, he underscored the significant respect accorded to education and teachers by both Bangabandhu's government and the present administration. He asked the educators to prioritize the students' technical and vocational education in addition to their general education.

The minister also added "To remain competitive with the rest of the world, there is no other option than to turn our population into public resources. As a result, educators ought to urge pupils to learn through hands-on activities and in multiple languages,".

The function was attended by several distinguished individuals, including Professor Md. Rezaul Karim, the Director of the Secondary and Higher Education Directorate of Chattogram Region, Professor Narayan Nath, the acting chairman of the Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Chattogram, Professor Mojahidul Islam, the Principal of Chattogram College, Professor Kamrul Islam, the Principal of Govt. Haji Muhammad Mohsin College, Professor Sudeepa Dutta, the Principal of Govt. City College, Professor Abu Taher Chowdhury, a prominent teachers' leader, Sarwar Alam, the Principal of MES College, Professor Amirul Mostafa, a representative of the BCS Teachers Association, Sirajul Islam, the Principal of Collegiate School, and Principal Abu Taleb from City Corporation School and College, among other attendees.
