Khulna, July 18 (V7N) — Students from various colleges and universities have blocked Shibbari intersection in Khulna, demanding quota reform and protesting the attack on agitating students.

Starting on Thursday morning, students took to the streets, causing a blockade that has disrupted the Khulna-Jesore highway and roads from Shibbari to Sonadanga, Mylapota, and Rupsa.

In response, the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has been deployed in Khulna to manage the shutdown. Police are on the ground ensuring security, with a police vehicle stationed at the Shibbari intersection.

Most commercial establishments in Khulna Bara Bazar and Dak Banglo area remain closed. Long-distance transport in the city is largely halted, though some transport services continue to operate.
