'Amar Ekushey Book Fair-2024' starts today. This fair will continue for a month. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate it at Bangla Academy premises at 3 pm. The theme of this year's fair organized by Bangla Academy is 'Read books, build country, Bangabandhu's Bangladesh'.

The fair will be open daily from 3 pm to 9 pm except on holidays from February 1 to 29. However, no one can enter the fair after 8:30 pm. The holiday fair will run from 11 am to 9 pm.

On the occasion of Great Martyr's Day and International Mother Language Day on February 21, the fair will start at 8 am and continue till 9 pm. Due to the metro rail station, the main entrance of the last time has been shifted a little and this time the temple gate will be used as the main entrance on the opposite side of the main entrance of Bangla Academy.

635 publishing houses have been allotted 937 units in this year's fair. This time the number of publishing houses has increased to 34. 515 institutions have been allotted 173 units to 120 institutions in Academy premises and 764 units in Suhrawardy Udyan.

The book fair will be held in Bangla Academy premises and historical Suhrawardy Udyan in an area of about 1.15 lakh square feet.
