Tangail, Sep 12 (V7N) - "We removed one fascist from the country, not to make room for another. If anyone still dreams of dominating students and the public, aspiring to become a fascist, they should learn from Sheikh Hasina's example," stated Sarjis Alam, a leading coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement.

Sarjis Alam made these comments during a student-citizen rally on Thursday afternoon at Tangail’s Shahid Smriti Municipal Park.

He further expressed frustration, saying, "While my brother lay bleeding in the hospital, the attackers, including some police officers, were freely roaming the streets. The fascist collaborators within the Awami League—the sycophants and loyalists in law enforcement—will face the same fate as their leader Hasina if they do not change their ways and leave the country.”

Issuing a stern warning against corruption in government institutions, Sarjis added, "This uprising wasn’t meant to allow brokers and money to control work in land offices, hospitals, or other government offices, nor to sell the people’s medicine to private companies. Over the past 16 years, fascist Hasina has done more than just turn her Awami League into a group of fascists—she has turned the entire country into a fascist regime and made all of us complicit in it. We must break free from this situation."

Regarding student involvement in politics, Sarjis said, "The future leadership of Bangladesh will come from the student community. We want you to rise and become MPs, ministers, even prime ministers. You must take your place in Parliament, where all policymaking begins. If Tangail’s bright young generation does not represent the country in Parliament, then who will?"

Speaking to the parents of students, Sarjis added, "Just as you once dreamed of your child becoming a teacher, doctor, engineer, pilot, or magistrate, you should now dream of them becoming one of the nation’s finest politicians."

Other speakers included Dhaka coordinators Abdullah Salehin Ayan, Mobashwiruzzaman Hasan, Mitu Akhtar, Rakibul Hasan, Rafiqul Islam Aini, and Ilma Khandaker Ani.

The event was attended by district and sub-district coordinators, along with students from various educational institutions in the district.
