New York, Oct 11, (V7N) – The legacy of style icon Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy is set to make waves at auction, as Sotheby’s prepares to feature her cherished garments in their upcoming Fashion Icons collection. Among the items are two stylish coats and a chic jacket that once belonged to Bessette-Kennedy, the renowned publicist for Calvin Klein and wife of John F. Kennedy Jr.

Following their tragic passing in 1999, these pieces were gifted to RoseMarie Terenzio, a close friend and former executive assistant to JFK Jr. Terenzio recalls Bessette-Kennedy as her "fashion fairy godmother," often helping her choose outfits for special occasions. Notably, she gifted Terenzio a vintage faux leopard coat for a first date back in 1996.

The auction features a striking black Prada coat and a wool Yohji Yamamoto jacket, both of which were favorites of Bessette-Kennedy, with the latter being spotted on her in March 1997. Sotheby’s anticipates these pieces will fetch between $15,000 and $20,000.

This auction follows Sotheby’s recent successes, including Princess Diana's black sheep wool sweater, which sold for a staggering $1.1 million. The Fashion Icons auction runs from November 27 to December 17, with an exhibition at Sotheby’s New York from December 5 to 10.
