Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, one of the most popular and successful couples in Bollywood, are reportedly expecting their first child together. The couple, who got married in a lavish ceremony at Italy’s Lake Como on November 14, 2018, after dating for six years, are said to be in their second trimester of pregnancy.

The news of their pregnancy has been circulating in the media for a while, as Deepika was seen hiding her midriff at various events. The latest instance was at the 77th BAFTA Awards, where Deepika wore a shimmery saree and custom jewellery by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. According to a source quoted by The Week1, “The actor is said to be in her second trimester.”

The pregnancy news also coincides with the reports of Deepika dropping out of the third season of the acclaimed HBO show The White Lotus. It was speculated that Deepika will be joining the cast of the comedy-drama series, which revolves around the lives of the guests and employees of a Hawaiian resort. However, it was later reported that Deepika had opted out of the show due to her reasons.

This is not the first time that Deepika has faced pregnancy rumours. Last month, when she shared pictures from the promotions of her upcoming film Fighter, co-starring Hrithik Roshan, some fans claimed to have spotted a ‘bump’ and asked her if she was pregnant. Deepika did not respond to the comments, but she had earlier expressed her desire to have children with Ranveer.

In an interview with Vogue Singapore in January, Deepika said, “Absolutely. Ranveer and I love children. We look forward to the day when we will start our own family.” She also said that she values her family more than her fame and money and that she and Ranveer hope to instil the same values in their children.

Ranveer and Deepika, who first met on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s romantic film Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela in 2013, have worked together in several films, such as Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat. They celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in Belgium last year and shared adorable pictures on their social media accounts.

The couple, who are known for their chemistry and style, have several projects lined up for the future. Deepika will be seen in Kalki 2898 AD, a sci-fi action thriller with Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan, and in Fighter, an aerial action film with Hrithik Roshan. Ranveer will be seen in Singham Again, a cop drama with Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor, and in Don 3, a crime thriller with Farhan Akhtar.
