The excitement around the February 10, 2024, "Charlie Puth Live in Dhaka" performance has taken an unexpected turn due to questions being raised about the legitimacy of the Silverline Events-organized event. Although the nation was excitedly anticipating the musical spectacle with the global sensation, new information indicates that things might not be as they seem.

The highly anticipated concert's organizers, Silverline Events, excited fans by formally revealing the date on their web page. Unexpectedly, they also disclosed that Charlie Puth would be joined on stage by two more local performers at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB). But when the ticket prices were revealed, people were skeptical. The starting price was an exceptionally low Tk 2000, which made people wonder and started speculating among the concertgoers.

When the event organizers approached The Daily Star for a media collaboration, rumors about a potential scam started to surface, adding to the complexity of the narrative. The organizers told us that a video announcement with the musician will be published soon as they waited for verification.

But after emailing Charlie Puth's brand manager, Brent Smith, of The Daily Star, Aaqib Hasib learned that no show had been confirmed, which raised more questions.

"I'm not sure where this story came from, but the information is incorrect. Charlie's trip to Bangladesh is not planned," Brent Smith informed the reporter of The Daily Star.

The manager sounded confused about where the story came from and declared unequivocally that Charlie Puth was not supposed to perform in Bangladesh and that the report was false.

When a watchful person named Nafisa Nawal posted about her concerns on social media, the skepticism grew. Nawal disclosed two crucial details in a public service announcement that raised questions about Silverline Events' reliability. She began by refuting the organizers' assertions by saying that they had never worked with MGH on a Career Fair. Second, she made a clear contradiction to the claims made by the organizers when she pointed out that an image that appeared to be from the CPC Career Fair was actually from the BYLC Career Expo.

Many others found Nawal's post to be insightful, which made them wonder if the entire event was legitimate. "Remain aware, everyone. She emphasized that Charlie Puth is not currently on tour anywhere and that he has not even visited India. She advised prospective concertgoers to exercise cautious. Nawal was shocked by the ticket costs, thinking they were incredibly cheap for such a well-known international performer.

Suspicions of fraudulent activities related to the event were further heightened when it was found that the number used to pay for tickets had been marked as a "scammer" on the True Caller App.

Following all of these events, the Silverline Events page appears to have vanished, and the organizers can no longer be reached by phone.

The Daily Star is steadfast in its pursuit of the truth about the "Charlie Puth Live in Dhaka" performance, guaranteeing transparency for the excited crowd and casting doubt on Silverline Events' legitimacy even as the uproar around the purported swindle intensifies.
