DHAKA, Mar 25, (V7N) – Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus will leave for China tomorrow on a four-day official visit aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations.
According to Abul Kalam Azad, Deputy Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser, a special flight carrying Prof. Yunus and his delegation will depart from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 1 PM tomorrow.
On March 27, Prof. Yunus will speak at the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA), where he will discuss Asia’s evolving role in global affairs. On the sidelines, he is expected to meet with CEOs of major Chinese and international companies to explore potential business collaborations.
The Chief Adviser will hold his first bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on March 28 in Beijing. Their discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade, infrastructure, and investment.
During the visit, Prof. Yunus will also deliver a lecture at Peking University, where he will be awarded an honorary doctorate degree in recognition of his contributions to economic development and social entrepreneurship.
Additionally, he will visit China’s high-tech industrial parks and engage with Chinese hospital chains to encourage investments in Bangladesh’s healthcare sector through joint ventures. Prof. Yunus is expected to return to Dhaka on March 29.
