Dhaka, Mar 30 (V7N)– Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman met with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus at the state guesthouse Jamuna on Sunday, where he detailed the army's preparations for ensuring security during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.

"Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman on Sunday paid a courtesy call on Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus at the state guesthouse Jamuna," a press release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed.

During the meeting, General Waker-Uz-Zaman outlined the army's efforts to maintain overall security during the festive period.

"During the meeting, the Army Chief briefed him on the measures undertaken by the army to ensure overall security during the forthcoming Eid-ul-Fitr," the ISPR release stated.

Key aspects of the briefing included the army's role in facilitating smooth operations at transportation hubs and ensuring uninterrupted road traffic.

"He highlighted the army’s role in maintaining smooth operations at launch terminals, train stations, and bus stands, as well as ensuring uninterrupted vehicular movement on all major roads," a military spokesperson reported.

The Army Chief also discussed initiatives to foster harmony between industrial owners and workers.

"Moreover, he discussed efforts to mediate between industrial owners and workers to maintain harmony in the labor sector," the ISPR release detailed.

Additionally, General Waker-Uz-Zaman informed the Chief Adviser about the army's support for those affected by the July uprising, including Iftar and prayer gatherings and financial assistance programs.

"Waker also informed Muhammad Yunus about the army's ongoing initiatives, including organizing Iftar and prayer gatherings at all cantonments in honor of those injured in the July uprising. Furthermore, he outlined financial assistance programmes initiated by the Bangladesh Army for wounded fighters and the families of martyrs," a military operations summary confirmed.

Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus praised the army's professionalism and offered guidance for future operations.

"The Chief Adviser praised the army’s professionalism and contributions, providing necessary guidance for its future operations, and expressed confidence that the Bangladesh Army would continue to uphold sovereignty and security with dedication and professionalism," the ISPR release stated.

The meeting concluded with the Army Chief extending early Eid greetings to the Chief Adviser.
