CHATTOGRAM,  May 13, (V7N) – In a move towards environment-friendly and modern transportation, electric cars (e-cars) have been introduced on a trial basis at the Chattogram University (CU) campus for students and visitors.

CU Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin announced that a total of four e-cars will be operating across the campus for the next two days, commencing today.

“The e-cars will run on a trial basis for two days from today. If it is successful, then the passenger service will be officially launched with 20 e-cars from next June,” he stated.

Dr. Kamal further mentioned that the e-cars were brought to the campus today from an institution in Dhaka. The university administration emphasized that the students' feedback on the proper use and effectiveness of these e-cars will be crucial in deciding whether to officially launch the service.

The administration believes that the introduction of e-cars on the CU campus will significantly reduce environmental pollution and make internal transportation easier and more comfortable.

It was also announced that the opinions of students, teachers, and employees will be actively sought during this two-day trial period.
