DHAKA, Feb 4,(V7N) — The holy Shab-e-Barat, known as the Night of Fortune, was observed across the country on Tuesday night with due religious fervour and devotion.

Marking the occasion, the Islamic Foundation organized a series of religious programmes at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the capital. These included waz (religious sermons), doa mahfil, special prayers, recitation from the Holy Quran, and Hamd and Naat.

Similar religious activities were held at mosques nationwide. Sermons highlighting the significance of Shab-e-Barat were delivered after Maghrib prayers, while special munajat were offered following Isha prayers across the country.

On the occasion, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus issued a message conveying greetings to Muslims at home and abroad.

Throughout the night, a large number of devotees visited nearby graveyards to offer special doa and munajat, praying for the eternal peace of their departed relatives and loved ones.

Many people also distributed money, food, and sweetmeats among the poor and destitute as part of the observance.
