Gazipur, Feb 04 (V7N) - Commerce and Civil Aviation and Tourism Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin on Tuesday evening visited Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital, where 11-year-old domestic help Mohana is being treated for severe injuries.

During the visit, the Adviser spoke with attending doctors to inquire about the child’s physical condition and instructed hospital authorities to ensure the highest standard of medical care for her recovery.

He also met the injured child and offered words of reassurance, saying she had nothing to fear as the government stood firmly beside her. He conveyed that Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus had personally directed him to look after the matter and ensure her well-being.

Condemning the incident, Sheikh Bashir Uddin said violence against a child is unacceptable in a civilized society and emphasized that those responsible would be brought to justice and face appropriate punishment.

The Adviser was accompanied by Additional Secretary of the ministry and Biman Managing Director D Humayra Sultana, Gazipur Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alam Hossain, and hospital Director Dr Aminul Islam.

Mohana was admitted to the hospital on January 31 with serious injuries. Following allegations of torturing the child, former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Safiqur Rahman was arrested on February 2.
