Dhaka, Nov 09 (V7N)- BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman stressed the need for safe and accountable voting to combat anti-national conspiracies. He asserted that free and fair elections are essential, allowing people to vote for candidates of their choice. Rahman made these remarks while virtually addressing the inauguration of the Krishak Dal training program at the Diploma Engineer Institute in Kakrail.

He also announced plans for a series of farmers' rallies in every union across the country over the next three months, starting from November 10. He encouraged the Krishak Dal to focus on addressing the concerns of farmers at these gatherings and outlined the BNP’s commitment to resolving agricultural issues if the party comes to power.

Rahman promised to revive Shaheed Ziaur Rahman’s canal-digging program to ensure water accessibility for farmers, which he said could significantly boost crop production. He also highlighted BNP’s past initiatives, such as agricultural loan waivers and government-subsidized electricity during harvest seasons, which alleviated some of the farmers' challenges.

Discussing agricultural insurance, he mentioned plans to protect farmers from crop losses and reduce reliance on moneylenders. Rahman emphasized the importance of domestic food production for Bangladesh’s 20-crore population and highlighted the need to protect and expand agricultural land, expressing hope to achieve this if the BNP assumes power.

The BNP Acting Chairman's speech underscored the party's focus on agriculture, accountability, and voters’ rights, with promises aimed at supporting farmers and securing a more sustainable future for Bangladesh’s agricultural sector.
