Dhaka, Dec 12 (V7N)- BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed has criticized Information Advisor Nahid Islam's recent comments on elections, stressing that elections are a vital step toward establishing democracy. Speaking at a press conference at the BNP office in Nayapaltan, Rizvi asked, "Why do we react when we hear about elections? Why are elections being repeatedly neglected?" He further added that such attitudes towards elections only hinder national progress.

Rizvi warned that ambiguous statements on political matters could cause divisions in national unity and create unnecessary tension. He urged caution when making comments about political parties, stressing that criticisms should be constructive and should motivate the government to do good.

Regarding the upcoming elections, Rizvi called for the completion of necessary reforms and the holding of elections with the participation of all political parties. He emphasized that Bangladesh is moving towards a more democratic future, but only if elections are conducted fairly and inclusively.

During the press conference, Rizvi also outlined the BNP's plans to observe Martyred Intellectuals' Day and Victory Day with the appropriate dignity. The following activities were announced for these important observances:
