Dhaka, Dec 17, (V7N) - Sixteen individuals, including former ministers, bureaucrats, judges, and political leaders, will be presented before the International Crimes Tribunal today. They are accused of involvement in the atrocities and crimes against humanity during the July-August period, and the court has directed their appearance for an update on the investigation progress.

The accused individuals are: former ministers Anisul Haq, Faruk Khan, Dr. Dipu Moni, Rashed Khan Menon, Abdur Razzak, Hasanul Haq Inu, Junayed Ahmed Palak, Shajahan Khan, Golam Dostgir Gazi, former state minister Kamal Ahmed Majumdar, former prime minister’s adviser Salman F. Rahman, Toufiq-e-Elahi, former justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury, and secretary Jahangir Alam, as well as Awami League leaders Amir Hossain Amu and Kamrul Islam.

This is the second time the accused will appear before the tribunal, following an earlier court appearance on November 17 for their involvement in crimes related to the July-August genocide and crimes against humanity. The appearance is part of ongoing investigations into these charges
