Dhaka, Dec 17 (V7N) — BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury stated that genuine reforms cannot be achieved by a handful of individuals but must be implemented by a government elected through the people’s mandate. He made these remarks at a financial assistance program organized by the Doctors' Association of Bangladesh (DAB) on Tuesday, aimed at supporting those injured during the July-August uprising.

Addressing the gathering, Amir Khasru said, “No reform will be effective if politicians have bad intentions. Only a parliament formed by a government with the people's mandate can ensure comprehensive reforms.” He further reiterated BNP’s commitment to implementing the party's 31-point reform plan.

Highlighting the contributions of former President Ziaur Rahman, Amir Khasru remarked, “The fact that Bangladesh still stands despite the destruction caused by the Awami League is a testament to Ziaur Rahman’s comprehensive reforms.”

Following the discussion, Amir Khasru met with individuals injured in the July uprising and distributed financial assistance on behalf of the BNP.
