Dhaka, Dec 18 (V7N)—BNP’s expectations regarding the election roadmap have not been met, according to the party’s Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed.

He made this statement on Wednesday at the inauguration ceremony of a medical camp organized by the Ziaur Rahman Foundation in the Karail area of Banani in the capital.

“If the government is sincere, elections can be held within four to six months,” he added.

During the event, Salahuddin Ahmed urged the interim government not to employ any strategies that might hinder the democratic process.

The BNP leader further said: “The people are eagerly waiting to vote, so reforms should be completed promptly, and elections should be organized as soon as possible. Due to the failures of various government agencies, many accomplices of fascism have fled across borders.”

He also demanded that those who facilitated their escape be identified.

On the topic of the caretaker government system, he said: “The complete reinstatement of this system in the constitution would be beneficial for the country and the nation.”
