Dhaka, Dec 27 (V7N) — Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Vice-Ameer Professor Mujibur Rahman has emphasised the need for a clear statement from the interim government regarding the election roadmap, stating that elections cannot be held in a vacuum.
Speaking at the Ramna Thana Jamaat workers' conference on Friday morning, he criticised Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, accusing her of undermining democracy. "Sheikh Hasina portrayed democracy in the worst way in history through the mock election, and the degenerate dictatorship is still trying to fail the country," he said.
Professor Mujibur Rahman urged the people to remain united amid the current political situation. "If the people of the country are united, no one will be able to attack the independence and sovereignty," he stated. He also called for vigilance against both domestic and foreign conspiracies that could threaten the nation's stability.
The Vice-Ameer concluded by reaffirming the party's commitment to ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process, urging collective efforts to uphold democratic principles in Bangladesh.
