Dhaka, Mar 10 (V7N) – The Election Commission (EC) of Bangladesh has sought technical assistance from the United Kingdom to train candidate agents, election observers, and improve the skills of election officials ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin revealed this after a meeting with British High Commissioner Sarah Cook at the Election House on Monday (March 10).
During the meeting, the CEC informed the British High Commissioner about the EC's preparations for the national elections, expected to take place in December 2025. Discussions covered:
- Updating the voter list
- Public notices for political party registration
- Training and capacity-building for election officials
British High Commissioner Sarah Cook reiterated the UK’s commitment to supporting transparent, fair, and participatory elections in Bangladesh. She assured that Britain is ready to assist in any way necessary to strengthen the electoral process.
The EC’s move to seek international cooperation reflects its efforts to ensure a credible and well-organized election in Bangladesh.
