Dhaka, Mar 28 (V7N) – BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed has accused the interim government of creating confusion regarding the upcoming national election. He claimed that the government is making contradictory statements, similar to a regime in decline.

Rizvi made these remarks at an Eid gift distribution program organized by BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman for rickshaw and auto drivers in Nayapaltan on Friday morning.

Addressing the gathering, Rizvi criticized the interim government’s handling of the election process, stating:

“The image of this government will be further tarnished if it does not acknowledge the sacrifices made during the mass uprising. Instead of making conflicting statements, they should announce a clear and specific election date.”

He also rejected claims that BNP’s movement was solely for holding elections, emphasizing:

“The movement was not just about elections—it was about ensuring free and fair elections. Sheikh Hasina has failed to guarantee that. She has turned the country into a Karbala just to cling to power.”

Despite criticizing the interim government, Rizvi acknowledged that it has received broad support from protesting parties. He asserted that while it was not directly elected, it still enjoys public backing due to its role in the mass movement.

The BNP leadership continues to push for a transparent election process, warning that any delays or inconsistencies could further deepen the country’s political crisis.
